Upcycling: turning rubbish into art
Creative reuse is another name for upcycling. Basically, it involves the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and, eventually of environmental value.
I really like this idea and I apply it regularly to my work. I really like the idea of living sustainable and low-waste lives, and I try to live as green as possible.
This was painted in a piece of wood I found when walking by the sea.
It is called Hug Me, and is oil-painted. Despite displaying the sweetness of a mother hugging her child, the wood board had nails and cement stuck to the surface.
Similarly, both of these were painted on plywood, that I've found when strolling around.
In other paintings, I use canvas, but I stick to it all kinds of materials that would, otherwise, be thrown way. But that's to another post.
See you soon,
